With so many brands and styles of prong collar covers on the market, there is not necessarily a 'correct' way to wear the prong collar cover. Some collars don't require the velcro pieces on the end. In this case the velcro pieces can simply be folded under. In some cases it may be necessary to trim the velcro pieces on the end to meet your needs. All velcro pieces are 3/4" wide, but can easily be trimmed to fit the collar better. Velcro spacing varies depending on the length of the cover. In some cases a velcro piece may fall in line with a prong. If this happens, simply skip over that velcro piece. It can be folded on itself if it is not being utilized. Velcro pieces are spaced approximately 4-6" apart. The prong cover featured above is quite long. Most covers will feature 3-5 velcro pieces.
Prong covers are available in two widths. Most prong collars will utilize the standard (1.5") cover. All collars 1" or wider look best with the standard sized cover. Even if the cover is wider than the collar it still functions well and looks great. The narrow cover (1") is best suited for micro prongs only.

Coda's owner has chosen to wrap the end Velcro pieces around the rings on the martingale loop, which works just fine! The measurement doesn't have to be exact, just within an inch or so. The velcro pieces on the end are 3" long (each) giving you plenty of flexibility for fixing the ends!
Please measure carefully to ensure the proper size is ordered.
